Frank Kanawha Lake, Ph.D., Research Ecologist, USDA Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Research Station, Orleans, California, and Chair of the TEK section of the Ecological Society of America, works on tribal and community forestry, fire and restoration ecology and on incorporating tribal traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) into scientific climate change research. He Is of mixed American Indian, Mexican and Caucasian ancestry.
