In this interactive workshop, we'll explore the history and culture of Hip Hop and its importance to Black and Latino communities and make our own art and music while learning the basics of Graffiti Art and the spoken word art of Rapping. Led by Malik Diamond, Education Director, HipHopForChange.

Malik Diamond

Malik Diamond, Education Coordinator for the Oakland-based non-profit HipHopForChange, is the descendant of enslaved Africans, conquered Natives, and rural Scots-Irish laborers. He has worked with youth for 20+ years, and is also a prolific independent artist, having self-published several books and released over a dozen hip-hop albums.
